Up to 2,000 mini solar vehicle kits (22 x 17 cm) are available free or at heavily subsidised costs!

Each school** may order up to 5 free kits and, if ordered with the free kits, up to 5 additional kits at $15 per kit (including GST & postage).

From the many available parts (and permissible alternative options), construct your own mini Solar Vehicle (SV), try varied configurations and attempt to be the fastest over 10m. You could also conduct an investigation or experiment on such and enter the National Schools Poster Competition.

You will be required to submit your mini SV’s times and a video of the run (view the above 2-page PDF for key information).

Mini Solar Vehicle

A cash prize will be awarded for the winner in each of the 3 Divisions

  • Primary (Grades 3-6) $100
  • Junior Secondary (Grades 7-10) $150
  • Senior Secondary (Grades 11-12) $200
