PLEASE NOTE: This SSSS initiative was delivered in 2023 due to a Commonwealth Department of Education grant to the Hunter Innovation and Science Hub. The creators, Professors Tim Roberts & Peter Howley, are delivering new and similar initiatives in 2024 (please contact if interested via info@ssss.org.au) including the National Schools Poster Competition, whilst pursuing options to enable the SSSS initiative to be continued in future.

- Embedding ‘future of work’ capabilities and awareness in Primary and Secondary School educators & the future workforce – whilst mitigating teaching load
- Addressing Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and National Curriculum outcomes
A free online national initiative in 2023 available to ALL primary and secondary school educators and students in Australia thanks to a Commonwealth Government Department of Education “Emerging Priorities Program” grant and the Hunter Innovation and Science Hub (HISH).
Industry 5.0 complements and extends upon the current 4th industrial revolution and STEM focus by specifically placing research and innovation at the service of the transition to a sustainable, human-centric and resilient Australian industry.
Research and innovation and the associated cross-functional skills required are fundamental to, and supported by, Statistics, Systems thinking, Sustainability and STEM (SSSS) skills… the focus of this initiative.

These 4 free online activities will:
- develop SSSS skills core to the National Curriculum, Industry 5.0 and beyond
- positively impact the attitudes, aspirations and abilities of primary and secondary school educators and the future workforce
